Camp Journey offers programs throughout the summer serving people of all ages with disabilities.
Suzette Coates is the founder of Camp Journey. Suzette graduated from BYU-IDAHO with a Bachelors degree in Recreational Leadership and she minored in Health Science. She has her Special Education EC-12 teaching certificate and has been teaching for five years at Katy ISD.
Suzette has worked with The Arc of Greater Houston for the past six summers as a lead camp counselor. She has led vacation trips for adults with disabilities all around Texas, including Austin, San Antonio, South Padre, Corpus Christi, and Dixie Dude Ranch. She volunteers for the United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Houston each summer as a personal camp counselor for a former student. Suzette's passion in life is working with People with Disabilities.
